It’s been a quiet week…

I wish I had some funny stories to share, cute pictures to post…but I don’t.  It’s been a very quiet week and we are looking forward to a quiet weekend.  October is filling up fast so there will be lots to write about soon.  Hope you are having a great week and we wish you a very peaceful and blessed weekend.

My meeting place…

I’m having one of those days today.  I’m watching my boys and their daddy play together and build train tracks and I’m reminded yet again how blessed I am.  I’m sitting in my favorite chair, that thanks for my best friend Erin, is now by the window overlooking my backyard.  The windows are open and there is a perfect Texas-fall-morning breeze coming through.  I have a perfect cup of coffee with the right amounts of milk and Splenda.  We’re having church at home today.  I’m going to meet the Lord in my chair today.  This chair is the one that I rock my babies in when they need their mommy and it’s the chair that I meet my Heavenly Father.  I’ve called out to Him from this chair when I didn’t think I could take one more step.  I’ve cried out to Him when I felt lost in a deep darkness of fear and many unknowns.  I’ve sat here and marveled at the wonders of His Majesty and His very personal touch in my life.

Daniel just came in with a puzzle of different shapes and said, “that’s an oval, mommy.  I love ovals.”  I love ovals too, precious boy.

It’s time to go into the Sanctuary and worship…be blessed today.

Picture time!

We are way overdue for a picture update.  I’ve been super busy at school this week and falling in the bed at night so my computer has been limited.  We are all doing great around here.  When Ike moved out of town, some cooler, fall-like weather can next so we are having a great time playing outside.  The boys are practically running themselves out everyday.  Between bicycles, soccer and football with daddy and pushing the new bubble lawnmower around the yard, my sweet boys are worn out!  Here are some pictures of our most recent outside time as a family.  Sean thought it was time to start teaching his boys the fundamentals of soccer and football.  It was funny!  The second set of pictures were from the other night after dinner.  Both boys were acting goofy so of course, I grabbed the camera.  Enjoy!

Ike is gone…fall has come!

We had a good weekend and Ike has moved on.  Our Houston family is safe and their houses are still soundly where they are supposed to be. :)   There is no water but there is electricity so that is a blessing.  Granddad is slowly making his way home and we are getting ready to start a new week.  After the nastiness of Ike, we were blessed today with the most wonderful fall-like weather.  It was cool, breezy, and blue skies.  I LOVE this time of year.  The boys played outside for almost 2 hours today.  I have some great pictures and video coming soon of riding bikes, blowing bubbles and learning to play football.  Even mommy got in on the football action! :)

A little Ike on the side…

If you’ve been watching the news, you’ve probably heard of a little storm called Ike.  He’s headed our way this weekend.  We’re all praying that the damage is minimal but to be on the safe side, Granddad is on his way to our house.  Aunt Michelle is staying in Houston so she can help at the church.  It’ll be a fun weekend!  I’ll have pictures to share ! :)

Same place…new title

I realized this week that our blog needed a new title.  We are no longer a family with toddlers.  We have 2 very cute, sweet, adorable, stubborn, tenacious preschoolers…that I can’t get enough of! :)   We’ve graduated out of toddlerhood into a whole new world.  It’s been fun living with my sweet little toddlers but I’m also ready for what is to come.  I can see a whole new world waiting for us and I’m excited about it.  I was just telling my mom yesterday that I was loving the age that the boys are at right now.  They are so funny!

Come back soon for more love and laughter!

A few videos to enjoy…

These are a few videos from the last week or so…the first two are of the boys showing their dance moves! It was so funny! If you listen closely you can hear the song “Twist and Shout”

This video is of something that could have gone terribly wrong and possibly earned us a spot on America’s Funniest Videos!

A very full weekend…

We’ve been so busy this week that this is the first time I’ve sat down to do anything…much less blog.  Having a holiday on Monday really through things off.  I have a ton of pictures and videos to post but it will have to wait until tomorrow.  We are all ready for bed…it’s been a long but super fun day.  We celebrated Daniel’s 3rd birthday today.  We had our family and very close friends over to celebrate his life.  He was the center of attention and he loved it.  We had a “fireman” party with our very own fireman.  My brother, Uncle Tuck, showed up in full gear!  Daniel was so excited.  It was so sweet of John.  He’s a great uncle!

The present with the biggest impact was a little bike from Uncle Tuck and Aunt Aimee.  It has training wheels and he has his own helmet and knee pads.  He rode that bike for almost as hour tonight.  It’s so fun to see he and Zachary riding together.  I sat there tonight watching them and just soaking in the blessings of my God through my precious famiy.  I am a blessed woman.  I have a husband that loves God, me and our children.  He strives to do his best in all he does and to minister to us through his words and deeds.  I have 2 boys that are learning and growing everyday.  My famiy is healthy and God has provided for all our needs…what more could I ask for? :)

Check back soon for lots of pictures and videos!
